How GPA is calculated
Each grade maps to grade points (A = 4.0, B = 3.0, and so on). Multiply each course's grade points by its credit hours, sum those, and divide by total credit hours. The calculator does the weighting automatically.
Weighted vs. unweighted
Unweighted GPA puts every course on the same 4.0 scale; weighted GPA gives heavier courses more pull. This tool weights by credit hours, the standard college approach.
GPA and your career
Many consulting and finance recruiters screen on GPA early. Knowing exactly where you stand — and what each remaining course does to it — helps you plan.
